Recruit

Carrying traditional skills into the future — We are looking for the next generation of shrine carpenters.

About Recruiting

We want to carry forward Japan's traditional building arts — and make miyadaiku a profession people aspire to once again.

Shrine and temple construction has a long history — one that cannot be reduced to modern machinery. It demands the highest levels of handcrafted skill. Becoming a fully capable miyadaiku takes years of dedication, which is why so few pursue the path.

Japan's 1,500-year tradition of wooden architecture is a history of people and timber. Historic structures are essential to preserving Japan's cultural identity. Shrines and temples continue to be built and restored, and the demand for skilled miyadaiku will not diminish.

At Yoshida Kenchiku Kobo, we aim to bridge Japan's traditional building knowledge to the next generation — and to make the miyadaiku a craft that inspires admiration once more.
